Favourite courses and programme structure
Felicia has several courses that she particularly enjoyed. “During the Bachelor's programme, I enjoyed the marketing courses the most, which were very much about how consumers behave and how marketers can understand and influence that behaviour," she says. Although the Master’s programme is more academic, the case studies were also very enjoyable and rewarding. Seeing how our ideas can make a difference in the real world was both inspiring and educational.
She describes the programmes offered at the School as both challenging and inspiring. “It's very broad, which gives you a strong foundation to stand on while allowing you to delve into the areas that interest you most”, says Felicia. She also appreciates that sustainability thinking permeates almost every course, giving her a sustainability perspective that she will take with her into the world of work.
International career ahead
After graduation, Felicia plans to move abroad and start her career in marketing. "I want to focus on consumer behaviour and I'm looking forward to working in an international environment where I can apply the knowledge and skills I've gained during my studies," she says. She is passionate about understanding how people make purchasing decisions, and working globally feels like a natural step.
For those considering BSc Business and Economics or MSc MAC Felicia has some advice. "It is a great opportunity to get a broad and solid grounding in business and economics” she recommends. As for the MSc MAC, she would recommend it to those interested in gaining an in-depth understanding of how markets and consumers work. “Take advantage of the resources offered by the School, such as CV reviews and various career fairs, to get the most out of the programme and prepare yourself for the world of work” Felicia concludes.
Choosing the programme
For Felicia, choosing the Bachelor of Economics was a strategic move to gain a broad understanding of economics and the business world. "As I hadn't studied economics in high school, it felt like a good step to build knowledge and open doors to different career opportunities when I wasn't sure what I wanted to work in," she explains. The Bachelor's programme gave her a strong foundation in areas such as finance, accounting and marketing, and it was during the marketing courses that she found her interest.
